You Are your Own Power Plant

Updated: May 20, 2022

“A power plant doesn’t have energy, it generates energy.” – Brendon Burchard

I have always loved Brendon Burchard, but when I heard him make this statement, I was like, “yes, that’s it”.

In my corporate days, people used to call me the “energizer bunny” because I could go hard all day long… every day. Well, in true transparency, I wasn’t doing that in a healthy way. Probably like most of you, I was high on caffeine (coffee) and sugar (snickers bars). As you can imagine, I was overweight, miserable from the emotional / physical highs and lows, and slept less than five hours a night.

Fast forward decades later, I have learned how to generate my energy in a much healthier way.

In the power plant analogy, a power plant draws in energy in one source, and transforms it into a higher source and then transmits that out into the world. Comparing yourself to the power plant, what you take in you turn around and put out. So what is it you are taking in and in turn putting out?

Think to yourself for a second. Are you feeding your body the right nutrients? Drinking enough water? Reading positive books? Growing and learning daily? Talking to people that have achieved what you are working towards?

OR

Are you just putting anything into your body that you can grab and find? Do you toss and turn at night? Not surviving without coffee? Hanging around people that are always whining and complaining – you know those people (I call them the Chicken Littles – their sky is always falling and I don’t want to be around when it does).

It is simple to see how all of this can affect us, and it is even simpler to cause a shift in your energy level. But how? Move your body, Eat Real Food, drink water, find people that lift you up, learn something new that challenges you – the options are endless!

If you need more ideas, or support in generating your own energy from your personal power plant, reach out, I would love to help you authentically create your personal positive power plant.
