Hang on tight

Sometimes strength isn't pushing harder.Sometimes strength is simply holding on until the storm passes.

For the past few weeks, you've seen the adventure side of my life.

The Ironman.

The travel.

The paddleboarding.

The horseback riding.

The zoo trips.

More travel.

The laughter and memories.

The grandkids.

And while those moments are absolutely real, they're only part of the story.

This week has looked very different.

As many of you know, I'm in Massachusetts helping out since my daughter had to have another surgery.

It's been a week ! So much uncertainty, kids schedules, unexpected challenges, and trying to support the people I love while also making sure I don't completely disappear in the process.

If I'm being honest, this isn't one of those seasons where I'm feeling particularly inspired.

It's one of those seasons where I'm simply trying to hang on tight.

And maybe you've been there too.

We all go through seasons when life feels manageable and we're focused on growth, goals, and becoming.

And then there are seasons when the win is much smaller.

Getting enough water.

Taking a walk.

Eating a decent meal.

Laughing.

Getting to bed at a reasonable hour.

Taking a breath before reacting.

In those moments, strength doesn't look like a personal record in the gym.

It doesn't look like a race finish line.

It doesn't look like a perfect morning routine.

Strength looks like continuing to show up when life feels heavy.

It looks like doing the next right thing.

It looks like taking care of yourself even when everyone else seems to need something from you.

The truth is, this is exactly why I've spent years prioritizing my health.

Not so I can simply complete races.

Not so I can look a certain way.

But so I can answer the call when my family needs me.

So I can get on a plane and be there for the people I love, without hesitation.

The adventures are wonderful.

But this is the other side of strength that nobody talks about.

The quiet side.

The steady side.

The "hang on tight" side.

So if life feels heavy for you right now, maybe your goal isn't to do more.

Maybe your goal is simply to hold on to the basics.

Drink the water.

Eat the protein.

Take the walk.

Get some sleep.

And remember that sometimes maintaining is a victory.

Sometimes hanging on tight is enough.

Just for today.
